MARTIN, Tenn. — Juliana Gullo was a two-time winner for South Dakota State in the jumping seat events, but South Carolina claimed 12 of the other 13 points in a 12-3 victory over South Dakota State in head-to-head equestrian action at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex.
The second-ranked Gamecocks built a 9-2 advantage through three events during action Friday before the meet concluded Saturday with the fences competition.
Gullo, a senior from Itasca, Illinois, earned the Jackrabbits' lone point in flat by winning a 78-75 decision over Kenley Koch. She came back Saturday with a winning score of 79 in her fences matchup versus Natalie Jayne.
Freshman Heidi White recorded SDSU's top marks in both jumping seat events, but dropped narrow decisions despite scores of 84 in fences and 79 in flat.
The Jackrabbits' other point came in reining as Emma Riggs posted a 71.5-69.5 victory over Mattie McNeil. Adisyn Kuxhaus tied in her matchup against Olivia Cardi with a score of 70.
South Carolina won all four points in horsemanship. Hailey Hanson notched the top score in the event for the Jackrabbits with a 74.
